WE ARE SAVED BY HIS OBEDIENCE
Yesterday I searched through a whole bunch of blogs and found out that the people in the world that profess to know Jesus, have no idea who He really is. I write this today to tell you a little about the Jesus that I know. I pray that as you read this He will reveal Himself to you.
Jesus was in the beginning, and He is waiting for us in the end. Jesus made the sun, the moon and the stars, in fact nothing was made that was not made by Him and for Him. Jesus is from the first word of the bible, all the way to the last word, and everywhere in between. Jesus loves, Jesus saves, Jesus heals, Jesus forgives, and Jesus lives forever.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and the only way back to the Father. Jesus is my counselor, my advocate, my friend, my brother and my lord and savior. Jesus is wisdom and knowledge, He is wealth and honor, He is peace and mercy and justice all in one. Jesus is every breath that we take, and all the beauty that we behold. Jesus is both man and God.
For as by one man’s disobedience many
were made sinners, so also by one Man’s
obedience many will be made righteous.
We have got to come to a place in our understanding of who Jesus is because if we do not know who He is then we have no idea of who we are. There is such a demand on us to live holy lives if we are followers of Christ, which we should. The difference is that we seem to think that we have to be obedient in order to obtain it, and that is not the truth. If you look at Romans 5: 19, shown above you will notice that we are not sinners because we sin, and neither are we holy because we obey.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal
but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts
itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every
thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
2 Corinthians 10: 4, 5
HOLINESS IS A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Why do we insist on preaching holiness through our own obedience, when the bible very clearly says that it is the obedience of Jesus that gives us the victory. Notice that it does not say being obedient to Christ, rather the obedience of Christ. It is the Jesus that I know, the Jesus that was obedient even unto the death on the cross. The Jesus that loved me so much and knew me so well that He did it for me. I was a sinner, not because I sinned but because of the disobedience of Adam. Now I am holy, not because of my obedience, but because of the obedience of Jesus.
I pray constantly for the true gospel to be preached. The gospel of the Jesus that I know. It is a gospel of grace and not of works. The bible is very clear about how we are saved.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His
great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive
together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Ephesians 2: 4, 5
We were given such a gift, a gift that cost Him everything to give us. This gift was not deserved, no matter how obedient or disobedient we were, we were all dead in our trespasses. If this gift of righteousness was given to us so that we could be saved when we were disobedient, then how can we think that we have to be obedient to keep it?
I totally agree with being holy, but the way we are made holy is by beholding Jesus, the Son of God, exalted high above everything, full of glory and majesty, sitting on the throne at the right hand of God The Father in heaven. When we behold Him as He is, then we are transformed into His holy image by the power of His Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3: 18)
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we
may have boldness in the day of judgement; because
as He is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4: 17
BEHOLDING JESUS TRANSFORMS YOU INTO HIS IMAGE
We are, in the eyes of the Father just as Jesus is right now, on the throne, full of glory and power, and grace and mercy and truth. We must begin to put Jesus back into the center of everything. The more you see who Jesus is, then the more like Him you will be, not by any effort on your part, rather by the power of His Spirit.
He is alive, so are we in this world.
He is eternal, so are we in this world.
He is healed, so are we in this world.
He is victorious, so are we in this world.
He is wealthy, so are we in this world.
He is holy, so are we in this world.
He is completely at rest, so are we in this world.
Thank You and Be Blessed,
