THE CROSS OF CHRIST IS THE CENTER OF HOPE
FAITH HOPE LOVE
We are all familiar with 1 Corinthians 13, the famous “love chapter” of the bible. The last line in this important chapter tells us that the greatest of all things that now abide is love.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13: 13
When I was meditating on this verse one time, the Lord showed me that hope was in the center of love and faith. Then He took me to the cross that Jesus was hung on and revealed something that was beautiful.
Faith is the vertical part of the cross, in other words out faith is the substance that we use to reach into the heavens connecting us to God. We know that it is impossible to please God without faith. (Hebrews 11: 6) More importantly, it is the faith of the cross of Christ that opens up the blessings of God to us.
Love is the horizontal part of the cross that actually hung Jesus there. Jesus showed us the love of the Father by stretching out His arms and allowing men to nail Him to the cross. His death was a demonstration of the great love that the Father has towards each and every one of us. (1 John 4: 10)
Hope is the center of the cross where faith in God, and the love of God intersected. When His faith that the Father would raise Him from the dead and His love for us stretched out His arms and He was nailed to the cross, it was the beginning of hope for each and every one of us.
If you are without hope in this world, look to the cross of Christ, meditate on His faith and His love for you and the hope that He died to give you will be born in your heart. Praise Jesus for all that He died to give you. Hope in Jesus is life everlasting.
Thank You and Be Blessed,
